Harvey Relief - Vidor, Tx Deployment 2
November 19th - November 21st, 2017
Be the hands and feet of Jesus to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. All skills and abilities wanted. We will be doing a block party on Sunday, November 19 after church to rally the community and share the love of Jesus.
Skills needed: Plumbing, electrical, and dry walling
All transportation and housing will be covered by the church.
Packing List: Long work pants, Cool work shirts, Good work gloves, Rubber boots (recommend), Work boots, Personal flashlight, Dust masks, Sleeping bag, Pillow, Bug spray, Sun block, Water bottle, Towel, Toiletries, Other clothing as needed
Please budget for about $50 for the weekend to cover for any meal expenses. You don't have to pay money to the church.
Festival of Lights Christmas Parade - Volunteer

We are needing volunteers to help with the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade. Closer to the date we will have a meeting on more information for the Parade Staff. This is a very exciting time in our community.

Light the Night - Hospitality Team
December 3rd - December 23rd, 2017
Light the Night Hospitality Team 6pm-9pm
What is Light the Night? Light the Night is a light show that tells the gospel story of Jesus’ birth. Light the Night runs December 3-January 2. We will have the Light the Night Hospitality Team available on the weekends during that time.
What will the Hospitality Team do? Hand out hot chocolate, pray for people, have spiritual conversations, answer any questions about the church, and hand out church brochures.
Operation Care Dallas

Operation Care International Christmas – The Christmas Party Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 8AM-12PM Dallas Convention Center, 650 S Griffith St, Dallas, Exhibit Halls D, E and F. Van will depart from the EC at 6:45am. Christmas celebration for those in need in DFW. This will be a very festive event to remember the birth of King Jesus by providing for their physical and spiritual needs like evangelism and prayer, foot washing, food, clothing, haircuts, makeover, medical assessments, flu shots, and worship. Children activities include: pony rides, petting zoo, zip lines, rock wall climbing, and handing out gifts, socks, shoes, coats, and more.

Sr High Winter Retreat
December 27th - December 30th, 2017
Students in grades 9-12 will be traveling on charterd bus to Santa Fe, New Mexico staying at Bishop's Ridge Camp and Rec Center. Students will ski and/or snowboard with an adventure day option of indoor rock climbing, ice skating and swimming. At night students will be engaged in worship and studying God's word.
Costs include all meals, lodging, transportation, lift ticket and equipment and adventure day activities as mentioned above. Students have several price options: Option A: $100 = Retreat only Option B: $125= Retreat + Adventure day Option C: $200 = Retreat + 1 day ski/snowboarding only Option D: $225 = Retreat + 1 day ski/snowboarding + 1 Adventure Day Option E: $275 = Retreat + 2 days ski/snowboarding
Ski Lessons can be purchased for an additional $50.

2018 Single's Conference
January 12th - January 13th, 2018
Please join us for FBW's 2018 Singles Conference featuring guest speaker Dave Edwards.
The dates for the conference are Friday, January 12 from 6-10 pm Saturday, January 13 from 9 am - 12 noon. The event will be held in the Event Center, Event Hall at First Baptist Wylie.
The cost for this event will be $25 and includes an evening meal on Friday and breakfast foods on Saturday.

Now, a bit about our speaker, Dave Edwards.
Dave travels the country full time, speaking to young adults in churches and a variety of other places.
Regardless of the setting, whether in the pulpit, in a large arena or at a City Wide Bible Study Dave's message is simple: Helping young adults discover the importance of a Christ-centered lifestyle.
A gifted communicator, Dave speaks from his heart about issues relevant to this generation.
He has been a featured speaker for City Wide Weekly Bible Study Groups in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida. Dave's ministry has been featured in issues of Sermon Notes.
Dave is the author of 14 books and has written a tract called "How to Make Life All Good." A collection of his messages are available on DVD.
Dave has a heart for young adults. He knows firsthand the world of this generation. He helps them discover the importance of a Christ-centered lifestyle. Dave masterfully applies Biblical truths to current issues of the day in an honest, humorous, and understandable form.
Dave's mission is to reintroduce the truth of God's Word by meeting people where they are in life and bringing them one step closer to knowing and becoming like Jesus Christ.
February 16th - February 18th, 2018
REFUEL is an exciting weekend for students grades 7-12 to experience amazing worship and dive deep into God's Word...as well as meet new friends. Students will worship together at the church each night and then stay overnight together with their age and gender group at a host home. They will be transported from place to place each day and will participate in a mission project in the community. All meals are provided, and they will receive a really cool t-shirt!
There is a medical form attached to this registration so make sure to download it, complete it and return it to the EC. It can be dropped into the COLLIDE drop box in the EC.
